A friend in need!

My friend Anton who runs a martial arts school in plymouth often travels from the academy to his mom's place every weekend. He was telling me just the other day why he wasn't able to go there this weekend. His car died on him. He was very frustrated because he was really looking forward to visiting and go horse riding with his mom. Since economy is a bit down he was looking for a cheap car to buy. I suggested he look for used cars here.We all know that it is easier to buy and look around for cars online and this is the best site yet for him. Not only will he be able to find used cars but brand new ones too.He can even sell a car online and get the best price, be it to buy or sell. After browsing through this site I am sure Anton will be inclined to purchase one. Now those cars aren't just whispering to him but they will be screaming "get me get me "and I'm pretty sure he will be listening.

Summer Craze Experience

Yesterday was Sunday and guess what I did? Went to church? Nope try again. Went to the movies? Nope not that either. Had Sex? Ohhh no definitely not that. If I had sex yesterday then it would probably be a lousy one since I am still barking like a dog every now and again from this blasted cough. Not that I have had sex before while coughing because I even haven't had sex period. Darn see what you did you made me spill. It was suppose to be my deepest secret and besides I'm getting off track with you and your sex talk. Oops sorry witch chef Chay was interrupting me again. Hey just because your kiss turned your prince into a frog doesn't give you the right to be the star all the time. Pahhleeez zip it coz I have a blog to write. Nah ah no zip it I say. No. Nay ohh finally a word she understands. Sorry folks I apologize for witchy. Now where was I?

Oh yes yesterday I was invited by my bestfriend Anding on a beach outing. Mom usually doesn't give her permission when it's beach outing because according to her there would be lots of drinking and merry making and that it might be dangerous to travel back since she is definitely sure the driver would also be drinking. I know a lot of you right now are raising their eyebrows about me needing the permission when I am old enough yakity yak . Well since I am living at home with my mom I respect her rules. And she has very good reasoning why she is apprehensive with outings like these specially for us filipinos. Oh we do so love the booze specially on special occasions not only that though but big on food and music. Any ways here I am rambling again.

We went to a place called Vanyo beach and it is located in Mactan island. It was a despidida party for one of Anding's officemate and a celebration for 2 law graduates. It has been ages since I went to the beach so I was very excited. I love the place and since it was a Sunday there were lots and lots of people. Family get togethers specially now that it is summertime. There were a lot of kids there with their floating devices and some blown out black tires to keep them afloat. They were being rented out by the people who run the place. They paid for the cottage which was 300 pesos for a maximum of 10 persons and the additional are 20 pesos each. There was no time limit so you could stay all day although I didn't quite asked what time they close at night.

We really well most specially me had an awesome time. We ate and ate and chatted about and naturally there was drinking but I didn't touch the beer. There was a german with us and it was lots of fun convincing him to try different foods. There were a lot of people in the water both kids and old alike. Not to worry I took a lot of pictures so I'm gonna share them here.Ok here goes.

I have more pics coming soon. I will be blogging about some of the interesting things I saw there at the beach. Well I'm gonna say tata for now, time to attend to what witchy wants. " Ok witchy your turn to talk" turning around " Witchy yohooo? Now where did that girl go? I bet she is playing with herself again. Playing dress up I mean " Hah you dirty minded you.

An unusual Once Upon a time!

Once upon a time in a far away kingdom there lived a beautiful witch chef named Chay. She baked the most delicious pastries and cookies in all the land. One day a bad thing happened at the castle not far away where the prince who stole the heart of the fair maiden lived. From the first time she saw the prince that spring morning riding on his handsome steed Ferrari she fell fell in love. She longed to have the prince's attention but alas the prince doesn't even know she existed. And so everytime she bakes she puts all her love and longing in it while she listens to her magical Ipod thus making it so delicious and irresistible to passers by.

Oppps sorry I got carried away. Where was I? Oh yes the bad thing that happened in the castle.News of the King's illness (the prince's father) spread far and wide reaching the humble home of witch chef Chay. She fretted and consulted her magical Dell laptop and began surfing and consulting the elder Witch Chefs. She went on and emailed her fairy friends hoping to get some clue as to the cure for her ahemmm future father in law. Well she saw the Ads posted outside her shop and it said: Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Hear Ye! The king is ill and the prince is fretting about worrying . A handsome reward is at hand. That coupled with the smiling image of the prince had witch chef Chay scrambling about.

As she was walking to and fro in her living room awaiting the answers that she has sough then suddenly a loud beep could be heard and then her magical Dell laptop said:
" Witch chef , Witch chef, Whitch chef Chay,
You have mail waiting yonder sky
Your Fairy friend SHYDUB said Hi!
Read now from your magical laptop
Before you go hipity hop "

Witch chef Chay scrambled to get to her magical laptop to see what her fairy friend had to say. The news was good but coated with a long and dreadful warning. To get the cure Fairy shydub said "Witch chef must cross a river filled with gators and crocodiles. Then she has to climb a mountain high to face the dragon who couldn't fly. And on yonder cave she will see will be the cure for the ailing king said she.

"How can I do all these?" she asked and then like a lightbulb an idea was formed. She would bake and bake some goods fit for the gators and crocodiles and dragons too. She slaved all night long baking and forming alas at dawn all is in readiness. She climbed on her faithful steed mercedes benz and off she went in search of the cure.

Not long she found the river where the crocs and gator awaits for her. She whips up her bag to use her first weapon:

They ate and ate and then they choked and died. You want to ask why? C'mon then don't be shy ask me Why? Hmmm Why you asked well the answer is simple although it looks very pretty but the truth is it taste bitter ,yucky and ikky. So the fair maiden crossed the river with glee " Haha one down one to go" said she.

She huff and she puffed as she climbed the mountain high and indeed there the dragon lies. The dragon sniffed and sneezed out fire luckily for witchy she brought her handy fire extinguisher flashlight and blasted out the fire. They squared off the dragon and witchy then suddenly she threw away her next weapon :

Her yummy, chewy and sweet smelling ginger cookies became the death of the fierce dragon. What??? Howww? you might ask. Just sit your ass down and I'll tell you how. Geezz such impatience. Here's what happened. As Witchy took out her cookies the dragon's nose twitched with glee for the dragon likes ginger yes sirree. Witchy threw the cookies over the edge and the dragon lunged to catch the nice looking cookies only forgetting that he couldn't fly and down went the dragon and so witchy said bye bye. She ran and ran inside the cave to finally get the cure to the kings ailment. It was indeed a magical fruit and the sign said :
"Here lies the orange cookie fruit which can cure the king's illness"

Without a doubt in her mind witchy took some fruits and hurried home. Her steed moved at 200mph and didn't stop til she reached the castle. One taste and the king was cured and all rejoiced. The prince then fell down on one knee and said :
"Yo fair maiden will you marry me?" shocked with happiness witch chef chay could only nod.And then the prince gathered her into his arms and they kissed. Pooooof .
" Hey where did the prince go" asked witchy
and then she looked down only to find out her prince turned into a frog.

And there ends the adventure of witch chef chay.

But wait the story doesn't end there here's what happened after courtesy of my friend Buzzing J:

Disappointed, the beautiful and elegant witch chef stomped her feet furiously, cursing her bad luck. After 5 long minutes of expressing her anger, again, Alas, the frog prince disappeared. After looking impatiently everywhere for another 5 long minutes, "Oh well," she thought, "just as well. I'm NOT going to marry a frog!" With a sigh, into the sunset, she galloped away in her expensive steed of the mercedes benz, with the frog prince flattened, and stuck at the sole of her boots.

The End or is it?

The Cream of the Crop

I'm a newbie when it comes to blogging so most of the time I am just winging it. At times I get stumped on what to do and what to say but at the end of the day I get to pat myself on the back for a job well done. I am very thankful for my sister because she has been my mentor and adviser when it came to starting my own blogs. She guided me where to look and what to do but guys she is the only sister I have so I can't very well share her with everybody. Rust away with you!

I was hunkering to eat cookies yesterday so I thought to myself why don't I bake me some chocolate chip cookies. So off I went to the kitchen to look for my baking sheet, what I saw made me wince and shudder. Come on I dare you to guess. Yup you guessed it right there was a big Rust smack in the middle of the sheet. I was asking myself how and why it got rusty.

I sure do hate cleaning up rust. Often times I use bleach and it's hell on my nostrils not to mention all those chemicals. I sure wouldn't want food to touch it or my hands for that matter. Although I'm not yet married and don't have kids but I am always sort of practicing to be one so I always talk to a lot of mothers about cleaning and health issues so I would always ask them what would be best used in cleaning the home. A lot of them said natural and organic is a must in every household. I am pretty sure now I will be able to find organic rust removers. Since my sister is already married and already a mother naturally I would turn to her for advice. I asked her to recommend me product which is safe to use on things specially my baking wares. She then led me to MyCleaningProducts. All I can say is wow. All those natural ingredients they use would surely infuse all that nature goodness energy into my home . It would be good for my lungs specially my nostrils and what more they have something called the Rusterizer which would make all my rust stain problems disappear in a jiffy. It is like having Ghostbusters but with rust and not Ghost. Not only would it take care of my baking rust problems but it is the answer to my garden rust problems as well. My plants would be singing praises with nature on their side. I am going for that clean and green feeling in my home.

Run for your Livessss! It's BIGFOOT!!!!

Kah Kah! Hey where did everybody go? They were here one minute and gone the next. (scratching my head) What's that behind those bushes? Hmmm I'm gonna investigate. (walking towards the bush) Oh its a dude. " Hey Man what's up? What's with the shivering and shaking?" I asked the dude. "Um we saw some tracks of big foot , that's why we were running" he answered. I laughed and said " Oh that uhmm no need to panic it was just me. I was running about trying to find the beach. See??It was just my beach flip flops

I like wearing this because it keeps my foot sand free and dry although you have to be careful not to stumble or get it caught on something. And they don't only come in bigfoot style but fishes and and sharks and seahorses too. Since it is summer time here a lot of people are going out to beaches so wearing something like this is very good. "

"Hey (slapping the dude) wake up don't pass out on me" Heheheheh well there goes that story about big foot. Need to find water now to wake the dude up. Poor thing passed out from fright.

The scent of home

I remember when we were kids that the one spot where we all converge is my grandmother's house. It was there that all kinds of things happened from celebrations to playful games and most specially the food that she prepares for us. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water, my nose flare and my body tingle all over with excitement. My grandmother is so much into gardening that she has lots of flowers around the house. It ranges from orchids to roses or to just simple house plants. Her house would always be filled with the sweet Scent of flowers in bloom as well as the smell of the trees surrounding the house. Whenever I go to her room it would smell of Charlie White, the perfume she often use. It was my grandfather's wedding anniversary gift to her so it is both precious and memorable and it became my favorite scent of all time. Whenever we go and visit it would always give me that sense of belongingness that can only be found at home.

Chic , Trendy Yet Affordable

My sister and I talk about everything and anything. I guess it's because of the short age gap that we have. We were born almost a year apart and yes when July comes we would have the same age for a week before I turn older so it's kinda like being twins for a week. How cool is that! She knows me so well that she notices every gestures and feelings I have. I have been feeling dizzy, nauseous and been having splitting headaches and I told her about it. She being very intuitive told me it might be due to my eyesight. She thought it would be a very good idea to get me a new pair of eyeglasses. I believe she is right but I don't know where to look . Before I could ask her though she told me that there was an article on New York Times about the affordable eyewear from zenni optical. So off I went surfing on their site and lo and behold I was blown away by the range of eyewear collection that they have. If you are worried about the fashionista in you well don't be because they have eyeglasses that would suit any outfit or mood you have. As I continued to browse the collection I came across this particular eyewear and it was whispering my name. I love how young and refreshing it looks and I bet it would enhance my wonderful features. But don't just take my word for it. See for yourself and believe.

Reminiscing !

I was just browsing old files here in my computer when I found this old picture I had scanned. It's a picture of one of my family's gatherings. I believe I was in grade 6 when this picture was taken. We were always a happy bunch whenever we get together. We are loud and we talk and laugh a lot. It's always a picnic for us when we go to our grandparent's house even now. We would always make it a habit to go on a diet before we leave for her house because we know that when we get there it would be a non stop eating event. When we have parties it usually starts in the morning and ends at night while constantly talking and eating during that time span. Can you just imagine the amount of food we consume and that's just not one day but in the duration of our stay. Our grandparent's place is like a comfort zone for all of us. A mini reunion always happens on their birthdays so you can always hear the loudness of the music when we dance and the peals of laughter when we chat. I'm grinning from ear to ear as I am writing this blog, those are times you would always keep in your memory forever.

Tie Breaker Chocolate Cake ! Yum

Yesterday Mom was craving for chocolate cake and she seldom likes chocolate cake so I was really surprised and frantic because I don't have much recipe of chocolate cake since she doesn't like me to bake said type of cake. She really really really wanted to each cake so I scrambled about looking at all of the recipe book I have on chocolate cake. I couldn't seem to find any that she likes.

She wanted me to bake a chocolate cake similar to Orange Brutus' Chocolate monster. I haven't even baked a choco cake before and here she wants that kind of cake. I was in despair at that time and so I went online and searched for a recipe that she would like and I filtered the search with recipes that have photos so she can tell me which one she wants. I finally found one but I didn't know I was gonna place it in my blog so I don't remember the link or whose recipe I used. I tweaked it a bit. I started baking and when it was cooked I had mom taste the cake and she said it was too bitter. So I baked another cake and lessen the cocoa and added more sugar to it. Finally she liked that one.

Then she wanted me to put a filling and it's a problem again because I've never cooked a filling of any kind well except that of pies because I know some. Then thankfully I remembered My aunt's recipe of chocolate cream boat tart and so I used that recipe. When it was done she didn't like it because there is a certain smell she didn't like and so I decided to tweak the cream filling recipe and she liked the result. Whew that was a lot of work. I was suppose to just slice the one cake in half and put the filling in but I didn't want to waste the other cake and so I decided to just sandwich the cake together. Done.

So I thought I was finally done then Mom wanted me to put icing on top and so I scavenge my recipes and found one and so I tried it. Topped it on the cake and prayed that I'm done.
Horrayyy finally I'm done.Mom didn't quite taste it until later that night in her room. She sliced it and took a bite and she praised it to high heaven... She said it is very delicious. She was the one who named it tie breaker chocolate cake because she said the bitterness and sweetness of both the cake blended in and the filling and icing made it taste even better. If you know what I mean.Warning though mom couldn't sleep with all that chocolate in it I just thought you should all know.

So here is the recipe in case any of you would want to try it. And ohh pics too.

I used 9x6 pan
Filling:
2 t all purpose flour
1 cup evaporated milk
1/4 cup condensed milk
1/2 cup + 1 T light corn syrup
1/4 cup white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 T butter

= mix together in a pan with a whisk and then turn on heat stir constantly until thick then add the butter. (depends on you how thick or thin you want your filling to be)

Bottom Cake :Preheated 300 F
1 c all purpose flour
11/8 cup sugar
1/4 c cocoa
1 t baking soda
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1/2 cup oil
3/4 t vanilla
1/2 c boiling water
= just mix everything in a mixer then pour on greased and lined with wax paper pan. Slow bake for an hour til toothpick or knife inserted comes out clean.

Top Cake:
same ingredients except for the measurement of sugar and cocoa

1 c sugar
1/4+1/8 c cocoa

= baked same way.

Let cake cool completely before putting icing

Chocolate icing:
1 pc. egg
3/4 c sugar
1/4 c flour
1/2 c cocoa
1 c water
1 c evaporated milk
3 T butter (to be added at the end)

mix together and then cook until thick or which ever consistency you like.

Thanks Beth!

Since we moved to a new place a lot has happened to the blogging side of my life. I wasn't able to blog as much as I would have liked because of the looking and the moving. Because of that event my entrecard account was deleted but I wrote them about it and they understood my reason and had my account reinstated but I had a big problem the blog I linked to it didn't come back with the reinstated one and I have decided beforehand that I will use this blog Ihave right now to be my main blog. My sister even paid for the design to be changed into a more interesting one.

I wrote again and then my guardian angel came swooping down and her name is Beth the girlie geek. She was and still is helping me out. It has been fixed now thanks to all the effort she put in. To my angel a big thanks for the support and the time spent on helping out little ole me. More power to you and to entrecard. I hope that even after all the glitches has been solved that we can become friends.HEAR! HEAR!

The Tinabal and Vajayjay!

Last night we ate tinabal. Tinabal is what we called the fish that's been soaked in salt and water and left there until its ready to be sold. So imagine a fresh fish being soaked and then left there for ages and ages well you can just imagine the smell of it. It stinks to high heaven and is very very salty to0. But we do so love this kind of salty fish.

We prepared it by washing the fish and then frying it in oil for a few minutes and then take it out of the pan and then saute garlic and onion and lots and lots of tomatoes. Then we add the fried stinky fish and add a little vinegar tov lessen the saltiness and add monosodium glutamate (vetsin) and then its eating time. Ohhh la la la it may smell awful but we do so love the taste.

While we were frying the fish the whole house smelled like the stinky fish... hahahahah we had to open all the windows and let the air in. A lot of people would compare the scent to a stinky vajayjay as what oprah calls the vagina. heheheheh Damn I have no idea why but they associate it with that.Does a vajayjay really smell that bad? Only the guys can answer that.

Dry Cough! Ouch it really hurts

After I had my fever and runny nose these past days I thought that I would feel much much better but I was dead wrong. Now I have a very hard and dry cough and it really hurts like hell. It even hurts to breath. I guess it's because some of my muscles really hurt from coughing. It's good thought that my throat isn't as itchy anymore. It really really sucks to have this kind of cough. I would have preferred the loose one. I feel like putting a tube inside my lungs and then have all my phlegm sucked out... gee if only I could.

Although eating some oranges first thing in the morning seemed to loosen the ohhh so yucky phlegm a bit. I cough and I cough and it hurts and hurts oh what is a girl to do to get rid of this nasty cough. What is a girl to do I say!!!!
